Puppies

Occasionally we have puppies available for adoption from our breeding program. These puppies have been specifically bred for temperament and health. The parents have had OFA hip, elbow, and patella checks, OFA eye checks, heart checks, and genetic testing done before being chosen for breeding. In addition the dogs in our breeding program have been evaluated for temperament before being chosen as breeding dogs.

Puppies born in the ACTS breeding program go through our enrichment program which consists of an eight week program of enrichment exercises including exposures to different smells, sounds, sights, and surfaces, along with exposure to crates, gentle leaders, car rides, leashes, and much more. This program is designed to bring puppies to their fullest potential in adult life.

Puppies released from our program are NOT to be trained for service dog use. ACTS maintains ownership of all puppies on paper until they have been spayed or neutered between the ages of 8 and 14 months. Puppies are generally ready to go home with their new families between the ages of 8 and 9 weeks of age, at which point the puppies become the full responsibility of the adopting family.
