Our ACTS of Compassion Therapy Dogs program provides outreach programs throughout our training area. ACTS dogs visit hospitals, group homes, schools, nursing homes, and other facilities to bring smiles and joy to people, young and old alike.
Therapy dogs offer a range of benefits:
Mood Enhancement: Interactions with therapy dogs bring joy and laughter, providing a positive boost to individuals' moods.
Distraction from Challenges: These dogs serve as a temporary distraction, taking people's minds off personal problems, aches, pains, and worries.
Emotional Expression: Therapy dogs encourage individuals to share their emotions and personal stories, fostering a supportive environment.
Social Connection: By creating opportunities for communication, therapy dogs facilitate connections between individuals, promoting social interaction.
Stress Reduction: Scientific studies show that therapy dog visits contribute to lower stress levels and blood pressure, promoting overall well-being.
Stimulation of Memories: Certified therapy dogs can evoke warm memories of past pets, contributing to a sense of nostalgia and emotional comfort.
